Recently, the first Design On concept store opened in the center of Belfort, France. The shop is focused on Ambient Assisted Living and technical help systems for elderly people based on EnOcean energy harvesting wireless technology.

A highlight of the opening was the launch of an easy to install LED lighting combined with an EnOcean receiver. It can be used as an assisting light, automatically switched on to illuminate rooms and corridors at night or in case of need. Via a magnet, it can be stuck to a piece of metal on the wall.

Ecosystem in real life

Due to the standardized EnOcean communication, the LED can be connected to self-powered switches, motion sensors, a remote control, a smoke detector or an alert button from different vendors. These are the benefits of an ecosystem in real life use.

Smart home experience

The shop was very well received by the attendees of the opening event. They could learn about energy harvesting wireless solutions for smart homes and how easy it is to implement different functionalities. They could experience how to teach in and connect the devices to an intelligent system in a few simple steps.

If you are in Belford, perhaps you can take the time and stop by the shop.
